Masashi Kajita, Ph.D., Architect MAA is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Architecture and Design, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture and Conservation (KADK). He is co-founder of Bureaus, a platform for spatial research, design and strategies. Aiming for contributing to the making of inclusive places, a current and related series of design and research projects focus three main strands: body, material, space in architecture. He does this with special focus on the notion of (dis)ability. His research fields across environmental access and social inclusion, material space and spatial practice, inclusive design and interdisciplinary design process, as well as dwelling and city. He was formerly a senior lecturer in architecture at University of East London, researcher at Danish Building Research Institute, Aalborg University and Visiting Scholar at the Royal College of Art, UK. He has practiced architecture and interior design in London and Copenhagen, and has taught architecture since 2005.
