I sin erhvervs ph.d.: ”Emotional value of applied textiles.

Scientific focus area

My PhD-research was focused on tools suited for dialogue between diverse groups of people around sensuous and experiential aspects of textiles/materials. This work has continued in several projects, which gives me the opportunity to combine interests in co-design and experimental design research with an interest in design for sustainability. In general, I am interested in ways in which practice and theory can feed into each other. Here dynamic research sketching and design experiments play a major role. On top of that, I have a keen interest in everything related to textile design. From a design research perspective, I am particularly interested in sensuousness, aesthetics, industrial development, sustainability, use and users. This said, I am deeply concerned about the design profession’s development and the designer’s possibility to influence this.
