Krassimira Frangova is an associate professor in wall paintings conservation at The Royal Danish Academy for Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation (KADK).
She graduated with flying colours from the Department of Conservation, National Academy of Art, Sofia, Bulgaria in 2001 and started working on her PhD project later the same year. She was awarded a doctoral degree in the beginning of 2006 after successful public defence of her project concerning the theory and practice of archaeological ceramics reconstruction.
Krassy has been teaching since December 2005 parallel to working as a ceramics and field conservator on a number of sites in Bulgaria. She also collaborates with an architectural studio, the work of which is focused mainly on architectural heritage conservation. Together they have worked on a number of projects on sites dating from 4AD to the late Middle Ages. She moved to Copenhagen in 2014 to join the team of the School of Conservation.
Her research interests are within field conservation of clay and built structures, in situ conservation of mural paintings and mosaics, conservation of archaeological ceramics.
