Description

The Creator Doctus project facilitates the implementation of a practice-based 3rd cycle in the arts in those countries where no such provision currently exists.

Creator Doctus is a three-year 'Strategic Partnership' project co-funded by the European Union Erasmus+ Programme. The project members are: Gerrit Rietveld Academie, EQ-Arts, Glasgow School of Art, Athens School of Fine Arts, l'Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Arts de Paris-Cergy, Vilnius Academy of Arts, Merz Akademie, Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

The project's ambition is to enable Higher Arts Education Institutions in all countries signed up to the Bologna Declara­tion to be able to independently enter into the 3rd Cycle level with an award recognised at the same level of, and equivalent to, PhD. An award utilising appropriate research methodolo­gies and where arts practice is the major element of the final presentation.

The conference programme included:
- contributions from Florian Cramer, Michelle Teran and the exhibiting artists of Processing Space-Times
- moderated discussions
- presentation of the CrD book and framework for a practice-based arts 3rd cycle degree
