Abstract

Gone-Echoes of Absence Over time, radical changes occur in the Danish landscape. Architecture that has been the framework of everyday life has become abandoned. Somethings are considered cultural heritage and preserved whereas a quiet opt-out decays and dematerializes in the tempi of nature or is demolished by mechanical forces.

But what defines the value of architecture?

This ongoing project was initiated by two visits to Thyholm where transient changes were notated in 2013 and 2018 with the exact locations, with a five-year interval. For this purpose, four cases were selected that represent the afterlife of the framework of four different everyday practices in constant change relating to the value of the land:
