Flash/blitz photography in museums

Some Danish meseums announces the end of prohibiting the public in museums to make photographs. I was interviewed concerning possible risks in using flash for illumination when making photographs. My position was that flash photography under normal use does not cause more deteriaration than normal museum light for most types of cultural or natural heritage. During the interview I referred to research and publications in the conservation and heritage science literature supporting this position.
