Abstract
About the possibilities for change through architecture in ghetto areas or urban districts with social problems. Examples from abroad indicate that it is possible - Holland, France, Spain, USA, UK. The chapter on relations between architecture and crime / fear of crime shows that the spatial structure of the district and the building design effects crime and fear of crime. The chapter also show Danish knowledge about what can be done and the principles behind existing Danish prevention guidelines.
