Abstract
The Crafting Europe FUSION exhibition showcases design prototypes which have been produced by programme participants from Ireland, Italy, Portugal and the UK. This project which has been managed by the Lead Partner - Limerick School of Art & Design TUS, commenced in April 2020 providing online masterclasses by renowned industry professionals, and opening doors to networking and design collaboration all over Europe. The programme was funded by Creative Europe.
As part of the FUSION exhibition, mending methods project explores how mending practices can be reintroduced and diffused as a creative craft practice in fashion by bridging the knowledge on mending across different generations. The presented design artifacts consist of mending methods supported by multifunctional mending tools created by utilizing the 3D printing and CNC technologies available through the well-established network of Fab Labs.
