Abstract

The exhibition, entitled “The Great small – Great Gender--‐Sensitive Design and small anti-gender design” will examine in an equally experimental and playful way, how gender more or less implicitly is embedded in our designed products, signs, environment. Products can be designed in a wise and
gender-sensitive form but, more often than not, the designs are (sub)consciously gendered and bear
stereotypical clichés of “made for women” or “made for men”. The exhibition wants to show both
gender-sensitive design objects and gender-insensitive designs.
