Abstract

Project timeline: 1. Observed formations/retained in photographs 2. Formulated project framework: Description for project with working title "Between scape and seriality". The project will be conducted as an extension of long-term interest in the relationship between context, mapping and the architectural object. It seeks to develop a series of architectural statements through aesthetic and methodical issues raised within three areas: a. The contextual: How and in which media is it possible to describe extended, unlimited and marginalised spaces? How can these registrations be developed to architectural potential, without losing the unlimited aspect? b. The serial: How can we rethink the serial in architecture? How will the non-trivial repetition meet the unlimited space? How will an architectural thematics be developed between repeat and variation? c. The methodical: How can we convey the development of architectural statements in exchange between different media such as film, photography and drawing? How can we use digital tools in ways which qualify excess, noise and the irregular (in contrast to the smoothness which traditionally characterises the medium)? The format of work for the project is experimental and investigative, yet directed at producing final, tightly composed architectural statements. 4. Geometric sketch 5. 3-D computer modelling. 6. To establish dialogue and a critical apparatus development and expansion of the project, a team was established consisting of students of architecture Berith Skinhøj Pedersen, Louise Haugaard Nielsen Torben Lauritsen and instructor Claudia Carbone.
