Abstract
In 2022 the first users will hopefully experience the Femern tunnel. As they approach the Femern Belt they will experience the terrain gently rising such that from the peak they will be able to cast their eye to the horizon towards the opposite coastline, another country, their destination. Now as they start to drive gently downwards into a constructed concave indentation in the terrain, where an overview of the portal area can be had, after which they are led down into the broad tunnel. Daylight is filtered and the tunnels entire 18 km length is divided by coloured light sequences.
