Description
Today’s architecture is facing massive changes of its practice and techniques. The rising demand for sustainable solutions in construction, material use, program and the buildings performance creates an increasing complexity. As today’s architectural is lacking to fulfil these it is of evident importance for the profession to create better performing designs, especially in terms of the relation and responsibility of architecture toward its environment. This necessitates the rethinking of the underlying design and building processes.
A huge design potential resides in approaches wherein performance of design is not afterthought but the actual driver for a projects formulation in respect to concept, material and its making.
Knowledge and skills from precedent projects motivate the applicants to bring their expertise into a project that wants to investigate the consequences of performative approaches for architectural design in a 1:1 installation. The research will create a performative spatial environment.
