Description

The project is managed by The Centre for Research and Design at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia and concerns the temporary and the long-term conservation of an excavated basilica, dated to the IV century AD. The project comprises of several stages, which require active participation. The current stage involved the research into the technology of the building and decorative mortars of the basilica, as well as the pigments found on severely fragmented pieces of wall decoration. The analysis resulted in written technological instructions for the long term conservation of the site.
As a separate part of the project a written guidelines for the short-term conservation of the site was created and implemented.
Based on the research a booklet was created. Its aim is to present the project to the interested sides.
