Theme: Architectural Theory: a Technical Practice? Abstract: The Diagram of Tekhnē - note on question: architectural theory; a technical practice? The paper will deal with the theme of the workshop in prolongation of my paper ‘on the methodology of artistic research’ at the Lisbon workshop, taking into account, as the immediate aspect of the above quote, Heidegger’s interpretation of tekhnē as a ‘mode of knowing.’ And taking into account, in the broader realm of architectural significance, the Deleuzian problematic of abstract machines referred to by Manuel de Landa as ‘engineering diagrams defining the structure-generating processes that give raise to more or less permanent forms but are not unique to those forms.’ It is to say, diagrams that does not ‘transcends into architecture’, as sug-gested by Mies in the below quote, but rather operates immanent in a multitude of processes, hence often referred to as their ‘architecture’.
