Description

Paper presentation:Ethics and emerging entrepreneurial design praxis: The role of the designer in socially motivated projects’. Initiating Architecture looks at architectural projects with “social” and “public” interest motivations: projects in which the designer aims to influence or serve a wider community, stepping away from a clearly defined role or a standard relationship as a consultant to a client. The project builds on contemporary research on alternative approaches to architectural praxis, focusing on the changing role of the architect, applying knowledge from contemporary planning theory looking at values, power and the individual and collective actions and interactions of practitioners and communities.
