Abstract

Experience from a nationwide survey called SAVE, short for Survey of Architectural Values in the Environment carried out in Denmark for the last 10 years will be discussed in relation the global diversity and local identities. A new ongoing international research concerning environmental impact assessment will be discussed. It includes SAVE and is labelled SUIT, short for Sustainable development of Urban historical areas through an active Integration within Towns under EU programme: The city of tomorrow and Cultural Heritage.
