Abstract

Transsolar is an interdisciplinary climate engineering team, comprised of engineers, building physicist and architects, but they are not a conventional engineering firm offering standard sustainable design solutions or technologies.
Instead of putting forward solutions, they provide design processes that enable the formulation and creation of innovations and solutions for more sustainable buildings. This article describes their design processes and outputs, based on their talk at the "Changing Shape of Architectural Practices" conference.
