title = "Threads and entanglements",
abstract = "In this essay I suggest to study Enric Miralles beyond the work of himself and his collaborators, and to look at the influences he had and still has as a mentor and a devoted teacher who made one want to study the history of ideas that we all share. Or in the words of Ricardo Flores, who worked for Miralles from 1993-1998: {"}Enric made great architecture, but perhaps the most important thing to learn from him is not so much his gestures, his formality, but the authors he looked at and how he looked at them.” So how did he look at Nordic precedents and the authors of them? Moreover, has this way of looking influenced ways of thinking and making in contemporary architecture? That is the thread that I will try to follow, making some shortcuts and detours, including things I learned first-hand.",
