Abstract
Provinsen har undergået store forandringer. Disse forandringer forbinder sig til de rumlige og materielle vilkår, de øver indflydelse på mange menneskers hverdag og også på, hvorledes disse områder forstås. Det er, som om de særegne landskaber og byer, der engang var provinsen, er blevet del af en mere generisk og repetitiv form, hvor det bliver stadigt mere vanskeligt at se forskel på stederne. Denne bevægelse sker samtidig med, at dele af provinsen har skiftet navn til udkant.
