Abstract
Industrial construction erases our connection to place. Local Resource / Collective Knowledge asks how the tools of architecture can be put to use in more local contexts, and how the materials, traditions, and approaches of local communities can inform a more climate conscious global architecture. It connects local and global resources and communities of practice through mapping and the co-production of an architecture informed by local ecologies in Matanzas in Cuba, Veneto in Italy, and Jutland in Denmark.
