    Abstract

The topic of the book is the unfolding of the creative process in architectural media. In the creative moments of a process, everyone faces the same fundamental question: How does difference arise without it being a variation of something already known?
It is crucial to destinguish between a process in pursuit of a goal and one that invents a problem. The first is problem solving and driven by a realisation methodology that strives for symmetry between a general intention and the process result. The second process is judged on whether it produces something that goes beyond the scope of the assignment. The real invention is not the specific solution but the invention of the problem itself.
The aim of this book is to outline practical rules for the art of experimentation. It presents textual material as well as drawings and model photos. The book is in English language and richly illustrated.
