Fragmented Monumentality: Picturesque and Mannerist Traits of Carl Petersen's Faaborg Museum

Abstract

The article considers some of the fundamental design principles of Faaborg Museum from 1915 by the Danish architect Carl Petersen. It draws on two concepts that have rarely been used in the available literature on the museum, beginning with the picturesque and concluding with the mannerist approach.
