Abstract

Nordic architecture is often said to be characterized by its roots in 'place' - in culture and identity. But how do we actually understand the concepts of place, culture and identity when we speak of architecture? The authors offer some insights into how our way of looking at place and cultural identity are mutable and are thus important to how we interpret and organize architecture.
