A Tale of Danish Architecture: Nils-Ole Lund's Interpretation of Danish Architecture

Publications: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingBook chapterResearchpeer-review

Abstract

Danish architecture is often portrayed as being in possession of certain special features that render it possible to speak about a Danish architectural tradition, where a humanistic approach to architecture, paired with a strong link to the development of the welfare society, stands in a central position. On this way of understanding, Danish architecture historiography has made a momentous impact. In this article, light will be shed on how a Danish architectural historian has played a role in bringing about a sharply delineated self-understanding and a sense of professional cohesion among Danish architects.
