Description

The Integrated Building Envelope is a project, aimed at developing a novel façade system as well as an innovative business model. The objective is to allow user-configuration of project-specific façade solutions, facilitated by truly systemic and modular product architecture.
The concept will be a prefabricated, unitised façade system. A backbone in composite materials will enhance sustainability and generate new architectural opportunities. A high degree of integration will influence the design and procurement process and a new business model will be developed for commercialisation beyond the scope of this project.
Founding project partners are: Arup, Fiberline Composites, Permasteelisa Group, Art Andersen, 3XNielsen, Make Architects and NCC.
The project is part-funded by the Danish Realdania Foundation, under the Building Lab DK programme.
The duration of the project is 18 months with official launch in December 2006.
In addition to providing public information about the project, this website has a restricted access area (login required). The 'members only' part of the site serves to store and exchange information between the project partners.
