    Description

    The aim of the project is to examine correspondence between the first formally educated and appointed conservator to the Royal Collection of Paintings in Denmark. Various results have been achieved and further are expected from this continued project: to collect and assess information that may explain the education and general conditions of work in paintings conservation in the early 19th century. Also, information in the correspondence compared with the painting treated. In general, the project is part of an attempt to establish a history of conservation of paintings in Denmark.
