Curriculum vitae

Silje Kamille Friis is associate professor at Design School Kolding. Friis' research is situated in the interdisciplinary fields of design thinking, creativity, innovation and sustainability. Her academic qualifications include an MA in Industrial Design from the Aarhus School of Architecture and an Industrial Ph.D. in Strategic Design from the Danish University of Education. The Ph.D. study was conducted in conjunction with the design firm e-Types. Throughout her career, Friis been close to professional practice, first as a designer and team leader at LEGO, later as a consultant for private companies and public organizations. In 1999 - 2001 she worked for LEGO at the MIT Media Lab in Boston, USA, and in 2008 - 2009, she was product manager in the insurance company Tryg A/S. Since 2007, Friis been part of the interdisciplinary faculty of the Master's program 'Leadership and Innovation in Complex System' (LAICS) at CBS + AU where she teaches and supervises managers and employees from private and public organizations. From 2010–2014 and since August 2015 Friis has been Associate Professor at Design School Kolding where she develops new curriculum in collaboration with colleagues, teaches and supervises BA, MA and Ph.D. students.
