Research areas

As a researcher at the Royal Danish Academy, I work with housing and welfare design for the elderly. I am interested in how the physical environment can contribute to addressing the demographic challenge with an increasing number of older people. For more than twenty years, I have worked with housing primarily in a Scandinavian context. I have in particular focused on social and cultural sustainability, including communities in everyday life, and the transformation of existing buildings into housing.

I am PI in an international network of researchers working with age-integrated housing and neighbourhoods, which is supported by the Independent Research Fund Denmark, and former head of division at Chalmers University of Technology.
