1985 - MSc in conservation, Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Conservation
1982 - BA in Egyptology, University of Copenhagen
1979 - BSc in conservation, Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Conservation

Present position:

Since 1996 - Head of the Graphic Department at the School of Conservation
Since 1985 - Lecturer in paper conservation, paper technology and paper history at the School of Conservation

Former employment:

1999-2001 - Visiting professor, Akademie der bildenden Künste, Meisterschule für Restaurierung und   Konservierung, Vienna
1982-84 - Danish National Archives conservation department

Research areas:

Paper conservation, paper technology and paper history with special focus on lining procedures, dimensional stability of paper and watermark research. Works at present on the establishment of a Danish watermark database at the Centre for Art Technological Studies and Conservation (CATS)

Examples of other professional activities:

1999-2004 - Member of the Research Committee under the Ministry of Culture
Since 2004 - Engaged in the development of European standards for the preservation of cultural property (CEN/TC 346). Member of the WG 1: General guidelines and terminology and WG 11: Conservation process
