Curriculum vitae

Gunhild Askehave is an architect and Industrial PhD with at special interest in the practice of urban development, architectural images, and storytelling. Through an ethnographic case study, she examines how sustainability discourses and practices are translated and re-fitted throughout the development of 'Copenhagen's new sustainable district' called Jernbanebyen. Her aim is to better understand how particular interests within urban development shape stories of sustainability, and how these stories influence new urban areas. She has a background as a practicing architect and as a teacher at the Academy. The PhD is hosted by the Royal Danish Academy and Freja Ejendomme in collaboration with Malmö University's department of Urban Studies and funded by the Innovation Fund Denmark and Realdania.
