At the Institute of Design, Product, and Material, we explore and develop design at the intersection of materials, users, production, and service, with a focus on sustainable solutions. We combine craftsmanship traditions, form-giving, and circularity to develop new approaches to product design in a changing world.

We create products, furniture, fashion, and spatial solutions with the user at the center, a deep understanding of materials, systems, and production processes, as well as an experimental and application-oriented approach to new technology. Our close collaboration with industry and public and private organizations—both in teaching and research projects—ensures a strong connection to society and a direct link between theory and practice.

Through research, artistic development, and practice-based teaching, we educate designers who can navigate complex value chains and develop the circular products and solutions of the future.
