Description

The exhibition Digital Practice presents the results from the research and teaching at the Centre for Information Technology and Architecture and Institute for Design and Communication at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture.The exhibition demonstrates, through the presentation of drawings, models and full scale works, the potential in the digital media and a wide range of new materials for architectural design and tectonics. The exhibition presents architectural works created in an interdisciplinary context. The works are made in collaboration with related disciplines such as computer science, building technology and construction, design, fashion, textile, cinema, dance and interactive art. Case-studies exemplify the transference from innovative high-tech industries on the fore front in the development of digitalised tools of design and production, to the field of architecture. Emphasis is placed on how the present reality of the architectural profession, evolve within the framework of this future perspective.
