Description
Constructive design research - drifting by intention: This talk will present the theoretical foundations of three educational doctoral courses in constructive design research focusing on what we consider the three major aspects of design research: oscillating between research motivation and hypothesizing, experimentation and evaluation. Rather than trying to invent a full new terminology for how we might denote the different aspects of constructive design research we describe what designers do and how they respond to classical ideas of research – the contribution and presented typologies and models simply enabling constructive design researchers to participate in the language games of established research fields. The contribution is developed through analysis of 10 significant European ph.d thesis’s done by the approach of constructive design research/ Research through design. The developed models and typologies will be presented through the recent work of two doctoral students one in landscape planning/ sustainable energy and one in interaction design.Period | 24 Apr 2015 |
