Abstract

This is part of the exhibition of works with several architects and designers called 'Tocar Fusta' (Touching Wood) taking place in Pollença in Mallorca, Spain. The contribution is three 'chairs' made from left-over wood and recovered stone fragments, produced in the workshops of Aulets Arquitectes. The artistic research examines the role of the 'rustic' as a material and aesthetic condition in post-extractive theory and practice. Each 'chair' is a three homage to an historical architect who has provoked new thinking around the rough, the unusual, or material re-use.
