Abstract

THE NEW NATURE IN FAÇADE CONSTRUCTION: CO2 CALCULATIONS — VARIABILITY — LONGEVITY
The chapter presents the results from students work presented at the exhibition — “Where is the water: design strategies for adapting to the climate”, presented two very different ways of thinking about building facades of the future. The problems caused by climate changes are thus addressed from two opposing angles: how do we avoid contributing to CO2 emissions in the early phases of construction by choosing ‘low-CO2 emissions’ materials, and how do we find robust solutions to the existing climate problems with heavy rainfalls and possible water drainage as part of the facades.
