Exhibition by Candidate Studio 1F - Emerging Landscapes and Center for Emerging Landscapes at the Aarhus School of Architecture where you can feel the cold, and the scents of from remnants found in the tidal zone.
Melting ice, rising sea levels, and human practices all meet in the Tidal zone.
In the tidal zone, the interconnectivity of terrestrial and aquatic landscapes becomes apparent. In the tidal zone, the inherently dynamic coastal terrain responds to the moon’s cycle and the ocean’s currents. A zone in which climate change and its consequences will pose an increasing challenge to habitats and the often strict division between land and sea in the lowest-lying parts of Denmark, exposing and foretelling the fragilities of our current adaptive measures.
The exhibition Lolland Submerged is an installation-based, ever-changing artwork exploring themes such as rising sea levels, land reclamation, and climate adaptation using the tidal zone as the catalyst.
