Abstract
Alternative Descriptions was shown at the exhibition ‘Visualizing Klimawandel’ at WEI SRAUM, Innsbruck (Austria), 24.05–12.07.2024.
Alternative Descriptions consists of two meta-visualizations of several historical climate science datasets, tracking the developments over time in measurements and predictions of changes in temperature, sea level, sea ice, and CO2.
About the exhibition: Scientific findings are the basis of climate communication. Graphic design can build bridges between science and society by conveying knowledge in images. We show how diverse and imaginative designers make future topics tangible and find a common language for complex content.
