Beskrivelse

The Ph.D. project analyzes and investigates the dynamic landscape of the West Coast in order to find alternative methods to the current paradigm of spatial planning and climate adaptation of the West Coast in light of climate change and rising sea levels. Through critical landscape design proposals that incorporate ecological thinking, alternative futures are created using scenarios to challenge the human-centric modes of climate adaptation and spatial planning. The hypothesis is by developing designs considering the complex entanglements between non-humans and humans in space and time, landscape architecture has the potential to foster synergies between various demands in the landscape and respond to the uncertainties created by climate change.
