Measuring Scattering from Rapid Prototype Models

Projektdetaljer

Beskrivelse

This project aims to develop techniques and carry out measurements of the sound scattering properties of the physical architectural models, to analyze this data, and to integrate this data back into the parametric modeling tools. These measurements will conform to ISO-17497-1 standards. The goal of this particular project is to develop a design workflow for the design of complex architectural surfaces and the prediction of their acoustic performance. This workflow would be carefully documented and mapped, allowing for adoption by other designers, and improvement of technique. A second goal of the project is the integration of the performance parameters back into the generative computational model. This will allow the computational tools to "learn" and for future designs to be have predictable performance.
