Beskrivelse
The project explores the inherent material indeterminacies of concrete casting processes within a digital fabrication environment. It seeks to pursue and articulate erroneous and unpredictable effects through design strategies combining material, formwork, digital fabrication and modelling.
Through physical experimentation, it discusses defects as a key influence on material behaviour in a dialogue between digital apprehension and physical realisation. The project extends the notion of digital making into the realm of personal material experience by generating concrete form intimately motivated by error. The project thus contributes to contemporary discussions within materials and digital making.
