I am the microbiologist of the Institute of Conservation 🧫🦠🧬

I am an artwork conservator and a trained microbiologist with a PhD in Biological and Molecular Sciences. I hold five years of research experience in biofilms and seven years in bacteriophages. My multidisciplinary track record spans from cultural heritage, soil and wastewater, to animal gastrointestinal tract and food. While developing antibiofilm strategies and phage products, I kept nurturing my passion for the conservation of cultural heritage and its microbiology by investigating the ecology of microbial communities and their response to stress. 

I actively work on maximizing the impact of my research by passionately teaching to students, mentoring young profiles, communicating and networking in conferences, and disseminating to the general public.
