Forskningsområde

My research area is play and play design. I am concerned with conceptualising play with an emphasis on distinctiveness, aiming at developing fundamental understanding and, at the same time, caring for the empirical unfolding of playing in its very concrete terms – in order to make a change. This double goal is the core of what I do. I am applying distinctive conceptualisations and empirical care into learning, daycare, and community contexts, aiming to create play designs where people can live, breathe, relate and engage. I work with research environments within different areas such as design, pedagogy, learning and art. I care for the people I work with and appreciate long-term relations, developing fields, and nurturing curiosity and fantasy.
Besides my passion for my research, I care for the role of leading the research group Lab for Play Design at Kolding School of Design. The research group consists of excellent researchers within the field of play design. Please have a look at our core values: https://theplaydesignmanifesto.org
