Amin Adelzadeh

CV

Amin is a researcher and educator specializing in digital technologies for circular timber construction, with a strong focus on developing non-destructive assessment and optimization methods for the adaptive fabrication of resource-driven timber assemblies. He is currently a doctoral fellow at CITA – Centre for Information Technology and Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen, Denmark, as part of the EIC Pathfinder research project. 

Throughout his career, he has held various research and teaching positions at several  institutions, including Augsburg Technical University of Applied Sciences, Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, Bremen University of Applied Sciences, TU Kaiserslautern in Germany, and Politecnico di Milano in Italy.  Amin has taught design studios, seminars, and technical workshops that focus on low-cost, material-efficient, and rapid assembly and disassembly of modular timber topologies. His teaching contributions have spanned multiple conferences, including SIGraDI 2024 in Spain, ECAADE 2024 in Cyprus, SIGraDI 2023 in Uruguay, CAADRIA 2023 in India, DigitalFUTURES 2023 in China, and ACADIA 2022 in Pennsylvania in the USA. He has also delivered lectures internationally. 

His research has been widely published and presented at numerous conferences, such as CAADRIA 2024 at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), ACADIA 2023 joint exhibition at the University of Colorado Denver and the University of Hong Kong, ECAADE 2023 at TU Graz in Austria, IASS/APCS 2022 in China, ECAADE 2022 at KU Leuven in Belgium, DigitalFUTURES, the International Mass Timber Conference in the USA, LIGNA 2023 and BAU 2023 in Germany. Additionally, his work has been featured in architecture magazines, notably in Germany’s leading specialist magazine for the cutting-edge timber industry, “Holz-Zentralblatt,” among others. 

Amin is a member of the scientific paper review committee for the International Journal of Architectural Computing (IJAC), CAADRIA at SUTD and UTokyo, SIGraDI at iBAG-UIC Barcelona, and ECAADE conferences in Europe. He has also curated the   “Digital Architecture and Advanced Construction” and “2019 UMZ Architecture” lecture series at the University of Mazandaran, where he moderated numerous conversations and discussions with internationally recognized professors, experts, and researchers from institutions such as TU Delft, ETH Zurich, ICD at the University of Stuttgart, Columbia University (GSAPP), Harvard GSD, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), The Cooper Union, Ohio State University (OSU), Washington State University (WSU), and others.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Architecture from Politecnico di Milano in Italy and has received several merit-based scholarships.
