This paper traces in some broad strokes the socio-spatial transformations of the Welfare Cities in Denmark since the 1960s. The transformations are organised into five ‘panoramas’:

II. The Crisis of the Utilitarian Welfare City 1972-1982
III. The Differentiated Welfare City 1982-1992
IV. FlexicuriCity 1992-2001
V. Competitive welfare urban landscapes 2001-2013
