Beskrivelse
In 2018, the Danish government decided to turn the small island of Lindholm into a deportation center for rejected/evicted foreigners. The historical use of islands as carceral sites haunts the present as a spatial figure of separating the dangerous ’them’ from the innocent ‘us’: excluded from included. Focusing on the casting of Lindholm as a deportation center, the imaginary of islands as carceral sites is in this lecture explored through what I suggest to identify as an interference between different systems of meaning.
