Exposing Particularities

The lecture is an introduction of a workshop at Studio 2A. The workshop outcome is to construct of a device exposing hidden potentials or intriguing aspects of the site. The device becomes a way of measuring, making visible - and moreover acting as a generator of further discoveries and new ideas. The device is as much something to see the site through as to see with and should be understood as an active part more than a neutral observant. It makes use of an uncanniness – by looking upon something and framing it in a particular way - an act of defamiliarisation - it might reveal aspects otherwise not fully perceivable.

The lecture introduces different approaches and examples.
