City Struck: The Role of the Architectural Photograph

Aktivitet: Tale eller præsentation Foredrag og mundtlige bidrag

Beskrivelse

In recent years there has been increasing focus on urban livability - the connection between city and quality of life - and Copenhagen has from several sides been named world champion in this discipline. But the city is not only caféliv, bike paths, slippery surfaces and glossy pictures.

The city is also characterized by contrasts - just take a walk down Istedgade, where you can experience the remains of the district's red light district and the chic cafes that show that it has become one of the most expensive places to live in Copenhagen. Also in other neighborhoods, new and old buildings meet different functions and a diversity of people.

In the debate we go behind the well-thought-out views of the city by asking questions to a number of different photographers: What is the view of cities and buildings that we convey in the photographs? How do we see the connection between city and pictures? What considerations should we make in the future when we take pictures of the city?

Join the curator of the exhibition RAMT BY BYEN, Marie Stender and the architecture photographers Rasmus Hjortshøj, Anne Prytz Schaldemose and Jens Markus Lindhe discussing the architecture photography as it moves on the back of the city

Panel member in the discussio of the role of the architectural photograph seen in an urban context. I here referred to my ongoing Ph.D. project SEACHANGE to frame the potential of including surrounding rural and nature areas into the discussion of the city scape as the dichotomy between what is natural and what is societal is no longer existing.
